The exception

She had no clue where she was going, all she knew is she had to run for her life. There was a dim light coming out off the corners, it was a long corridor with black light coming out. She knew that whatever was following her was chasing her down with desesperation and anxiety. The creature was feeling the desesperation to eat, and the anxiety to attack. She could feel it at a distance reaching up to her because of the low, short guttural sounds it was emmitting. Every step she took the more she knew it was the end for her. She reached a speed in which her legs were going to cease to exist and all there would be left is her torso and her head. She felt like she was running so fast that her legs were about to vanish into the darkness, and the creature would no longer see her. Reaching the infinity of that dark passage were the only hopes she had left, because after Mary died, nothing else was worth fighting for other than that serene, creature-less death she dreamed of. What made her think that she would get that luxury if everyone she knew had died that way? Because that is the only way she made it up until now, she was the exception.
