I been governed by rules since birth:

eat at a certain time, sleep at a specific time.

Do this not that.

As a child, I was immersed into the rules of society

...then the rules of grammar.

Prose is rules.

Poetry is freedom.

Let me rhyme my words my own way.

Let me rhyme or not rhyme freely and passionately.

No structure. No word count. No counting this or that.

Let poetry be poetry.

Let poetry be freedom.

Emotion. Feelings. Life.

Let poetry be what you are

What you aren’t

And everything in between.
