I remember learning I was going to stud at Saint John's only one week before the first day. Honestly, I was not nervous since I had already experienced a change in schools. Being friendly and easy-going is how I've always been and how I was. I started my journey in the school in 10th grade only knowing two people who weren't even in my grade. Soccer opened my doors to expressing myself so I decided to start playing outside of school to improve. Practicing with the school team allowed me to become friends with the seniors and the 9th graders at the time since K.V was the only other one in my grade interested in the team. Through the weeks in Deltoro and Giuliani, I got to know my fellow centenary peers. Although there were some divisions between them, I liked to think I could befriend anyperson.
The whole year I heard talk of Futsal. Futsal this Futsal that. In March, when the season finally arrived, I had my mind set and body prepared to play the best I could. Everygame I had Ronaldo9 on one shoulder and Zidane on the other so I could remember what the smartest plays would be. I had some nervous games, but the thrill of the crowd and the pressure to perform pushed me to try harder everyday.
Now, I am a Senior unable to play in the last season of my high school career. It sre is frustrating to think it was all due to a silly foul in practice that caused me to land my foot awkwardly and my ACL tearing ever so acutely. Puts things into perspective, I can see the game from a whole new perspective. I reflect onto my days in SJS, and I get a big smile on my face. Memories are forever, and these have proven to be some of the greatest I have had.
