In a land devoted to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the majority of children attend institutions run by the nation’s leaders. Every morning, these children are required to chant their loyalty to this land and what it represents. This is something that pertains to very few groups of people across the world, but finds its roots in the land’s struggle to become a sovereign country.

Children, from a very young age, find themselves repeating this promise until it becomes ingrained in their memories, and serves as a mnemonic of patriotic feelings towards their country and its leaders. These emotions that are instilled amongst the younger population of this nation perpetuate a feeling of devotion and commitment, without having the chance to develop their own feelings towards their nation and its leaders.
