I'm just a little more sensitive than most. 

In every sense.

It's hard to explain...

Just a little more sensitive

Than all of my siblings,

Than all of my friends.

I tend to feel more than most.

Just a little more sensitive to touch, taste, pain, noise

And, evidently, words.

I'm always the one that thinks

the food is too spicy.

the music is too loud.

the movie is too sad.

the sun is too bright.

And so, I'm the sensitive one.

In all five senses.

Mom says "it's a good thing,

to be sensitive."

She tells me that is why I love poetry.

Maybe that's what makes me unique.

My sense of sensitivity.

I feel deeply.

I fear deeply.

I dream deeply.

I love deeply.
