Feminism - Equalism

Posted by Diego Rojo on January 31, 2015 at 12:25 AM

In my opinion, feminism, equal rights for women, would have gathered many more supporters had it not been just about the most poorly marketed cause in history. It's a great idea soiled by its own supporters. Had it not been for second-wave feminists, the ones that collectively burned their bras in huge piles, rejected any form of male help (including door opening), and refered to men as the physical representation of all things evil, the cause would have not had the horrible stigma it has today. These people were simply too radical; too illogical.

I also believe that gender equality would gain many more supporters if its name were to be changed. Feminism is a word with way too many negative connotations. Changing it from "feminism" to "equalism" would make a huge difference.
