All around the world citizens are making their voices be heard. Suddenly people had had enough of their governments, oppression and unnecessary war. Is as if millions of people opened their eyes and said enough. In every continent for the past few weeks there have been protest. Protest for peace, equality, end to racism, end for corruption and a new beginning. The streets are crowded, banners are raised high and overall a change is demanded. Such an important time in history, you would think is all being covered by the news media. I turn on the local news and only hear about gossip and murder. I turn on national news and only see coverage for a tree lightening ceremony. And not the protest that was happening only a few blocks away. Is as if they don’t want us to know. They are trying to keep us ignorant from important worldly events. And if they report the situation, they totally spin the story around and blame the victim rather than the guilty.

Now honest news is found on social media. I open tumblr and see the young generation demanding racial justice. Posts about Mexico are more informing in tumblr than CNN. Even if people can’t be in the protests, they make their voices heard on twitter. From Mexico to Hong Kong, from Gaza to Ukraine, from Ferguson to New York City people are tired. Tired of the injustices of society, of the never ending racism and corrupt governments.

I have hope for my generation. We are proving that we are not contempt. We are not followers of corrupt governments. We are not racist. We don’t support unnecessary war. Most important of all we always see a better future. And trust me is coming.
