A new era has begun. We are no longer children running stress free after three. NO longer the eyes of the innocence rest upon our faces. We are left with forced early entry into adulthood. Was senior year the time we became adults?

The more important question is when did we stop being kids? Was it the time we entered high school? Got our driver's permit? Got struck with the reality of college? The first time an adult asked us what we were going to do with our futures? The first time we fell in love? Got drunk? Got accepted into college? Turned 18?

The real answers lies in another question: when did you open your eyes for the second time? We open our eyes for the first times at birth and continue life being kids. But in reality we have two lives to live. The second one begins when we realize we only have one to live. We stopped being kids when we open our eyes and see for the first time this crazy, harsh, cruel and unexpected world.
