Adolescence is a confusing time. A period in which we try to figure ourselves out as well as the world around us. WE experience many things for the first time, some good and others bad. At times we may feel we are on top of the world as if we were invincible or even immortal. Other times we find ourselves to be extremely fragile, feeling as if everyone is out to get us. We are quick to learn that which fascinates us and was previously unknown. Our thoughts expand to include a world beyond ours and we begin to see things for what they really are. Throughout this journey of adolescence many mistakes are made. Tears are shed and hearts broken. Even more so, we begin to notice how imperfect we are. At times, the flaws of some are pointed out more than the good in them. As we mature, we notice how unfair this is, making us more considerate towards others’ feelings. Adolescence, it is the best of times, the worst of times, it is the age of wisdom and the age of foolishness.
