On saturday my third oldest cousin gets married. 

I didn't think this was a big deal at first. In fact, I tried to skip the wedding for the volleyball tournament. 

I'm so glad my family didn't let me. Because this wedding marks a change in our family. It marks a start of the new generation of Pelegrinas.

It's no longer about my parents. Or my aunts. Or my uncles. 

It's about us. 

About all my cousins, about the kids I grew up with. Because now we're grown up. These are the people I'm going to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with. The people I'm going to be with for the rest of my life. 

This is the first formal celebration for us.
