Success makes me happy; I’m pretty sure it makes everyone happy. There are different ways to succeed. Success can be passing a class, winning a sports championship, or winning a science bowl. Sure, succeeding in this way can be satisfying, but it’s helping others succeed that makes me the happiest. To help others is to enrich your life. The feeling of satisfaction I get when helping a member of my community fulfill their goals is one that I cherish. I constantly find myself, looking out for others, looking out for those who need a small push to reach the finish line or looking out for those who are desperate for just the smallest sign of hope. To know that I have influenced the lives of others, even in the smallest possible way, makes me feel that I have succeeded. To succeed in this way is most important because at the end of the day, the classes passed and championships won won’t matter, it’s the mark that you have left in your community and what you have given back to those around you that makes you who you are.
