A young girl was walking on her way to her house. The only thing on her mind was finally getting to finish the book she started yesterday. After a ten minute walk which consisted of getting her shoes and socks wet, she was finally home. The stormy weather provided the perfect ambience for finishing her novel. She changed out of her school clothes and wet socks and put on her favorite sweats. She relaxed on the bed and began to read. He room was her favorite place to read. It was totally her style: bright, pink, and had a giant mirror a top of her bed which reflected the glow in dark starts she had on the ceiling. FIve pages in she was already completely immersed in the story.
The heroine of the novel was running away from an oppressing regime system. The night was dark and it looked like it was going to rain. She was running through an abandoned street filled with houses like the one she used to live in. She entered the one at the end of the street so she could spend the night in a secure place. She went to the kitchen to find some food, she hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. The only thing she found was a can of sardines and some chips. She found a working flashlight and lit the way up the stairs. It had been so long she had slept on an actua bed and not a cot. She opened one of the rooms. It used to belong to a girl she could tell from the pink colored walls. It was clean despite what happened. She wondered what happened to the family: Did they survive or perished like the majority of the people who used to live in this area? The bed was the most comfortable bed she had laid upon in months. After finishing her meal with only a flashlight lighting the room, she decided to go to sleep. As she was going to fall asleep she noticed some weird looking shapes on the ceiling. She remembered to turn off the flashlight to conserve the batteries. As soon as she was going to turn off the flashlight she noticed a mirror a top of the bed. Suddenly, the reflection she saw was not of herself. She saw a girl reading a book in a pink room, the same room she was in.
