I wish I were a weekend.

It sounds weird but it's true.

I wish I were a weekend,

Just to waste my time with you.

I wish I were a weekend.

And that's a real strange thing to do.

I wish I were a weekend,

Something you'd look forward to.

I wish I were a weekend.

I would not do work at all.

I'd sleep in every morning,

And have no worries at all.

I wish I were a weekend.

I'd love to be out all night.

I wish I were a weekend.

Go to the park and fly a kite.

I wish I were a weekend,

So you could always be around.

I wish I were a weekend.

No stress, no mess, no frowns.

I wish I were a weekend.

So my skin would always be tan.

I'd sleep swinging on a hammock.

I would hang out with the fam.

I wish I were a weekend.

So I wouldn't have to rush.

I'd paint a pretty picture

With my mother's old paint brush.

But most importantly,

I wish I were a weekend,

And I know it'll never be true.

But I know I'll keep on hoping.

It's something I'll always do.
