It’s amazing how far people can come because of their hard work and determination. I think this is what America is all about; being able to pursue your dreams and achieve happiness. Estiven embodies these principles perfectly. He has come a long way through his life; from not knowing how to speak a word of English to being accepted into college with a full scholarship. I admit that for some for some of us it may be hard to imagine what he has gone through because so much is given to us. However, we should try to view the world through his eyes, being of the few, if not the only person in his family to ever go to college. Going to college is a big deal for any of us, but for him this achievement is monumental. Estiven is not the only one in the world to ever go through this experience, and it is important for us to realize how blessed we all are to be able to have such a great education and all the opportunities that are granted to us. Most people around the world are not granted the opportunities we consider as mundane. I believe that many people in the society that we live in today should learn from Estiven and his struggle to get educated as inspiration to strive for greatness and work hard every day.
