Change. Eating feces would be more pleasant. It is quite possibly the worst phenomena God has allowed to exist in this planet. It's the most destructive force in the world. Why does God allow change, this atrocious crap that is constantly in action, to happen?
Change. There's nothing worse. When you are settled into life at school, content with your classes and your pace of life, change happens and fucks shit up. It could be summer (which isn't bad at all), but it could just be a change in schedule. You're taken from your quiet and private free block and thrown into a different, congested one, filled with people that treat you like shit and you requite their love with hate.
Change. I have only the deepest hate for change. It makes your face ugly and disgusting. It makes your friends leave your life forever. It looks at everything you are proud of, and promptly takes it away from you.
Change. It ruins your life. When you spend a month working at Young Life, and that camp becomes your second home, you don't want to leave. Nope. Not at all. When you meet the best people in the world and have actual fun while working 14 hours every day for no pay, it's not an experience you just head home unaffected from.
Change. It's inevitable. It's necessary. It's beautiful. It's there to encourage you to face your enemies. It's there to ensure that you grow up prepared and ready for life. Above everything else, there's nothing more beautiful than the change in a person's heart when they take a leap of faith. When people accept Jesus Christ into their lives, it's not a change; it's a transformation: they turn from death and start a new life.
So thank God for change, even if you hate it as much as I do.
