This year is Saint John's School's 100th year anniversary and there is a lot of hype. The administration is trying to make a big deal out of it, but I don't blame them since it is exciting. The school is 100 years old! A new logo shows an infinity symbol as the two zeroes of the 100. What would the people from the first ever class of Saint John's think about how the school is run today? I would say they would be impressed but confused. Today we have uniforms unlike the original classes. Now, from 7th to 12th grade a personal computer is a requisite for everyone. These people probably didn't even know about these electronics.
I personally believe the school hasn't changed all that much. Compared to other school on the island we are still a fairly small sized school. We still hold the tradition of emphasizing education. As the teachers like to say we have a century-old legacy of imparting Knowledge, Service, and Character. People may say this is a bunch of bullshit, but i disagree. We should have the right to express ourselves in this liberal environment. This is 100 years of excellence!
