It's true. I'm a horrible driver. To be honest, the driving instructor made a mistake in allowing me to pass with a whopping 79 on my driving test. I should have been forbidden to ever lay hands on a steering wheel for the rest of my life.
Be it in my old and abused, 15 year-old, gigantic, baby blue, Grand Marquis that my grandmother gave to me or just about any other car, I am simply terrible behind the wheel. I have a tendency to get distracted while driving and not look at what is in front of me because my surroundings are simply too interesting to ignore. I also tend to drive very fast and slam the brakes just before smashing into the car in front. However, these are simply some of my minor defects in my driving skills. My true setbacks lie entirely in my endless struggle to park and follow directions. I have yet to meet someone that is as bad at parking as i have proven to be. Last saturday, for example, it took me around ten minutes to parallel park between two cars that were very far apart; almost hitting them five or six times. Then, when it was time to leave, I accidently hit another car while going in reverse; making it my second crash of the night. When it comes to directions and signs, my struggles become a lot more interesting. I seem to foget to follow the stop signs, traffic lights, and even directional signs (i often go against incoming traffic). Going by the highway directions is also a problem. Once, I was following the highway signs to take me from la avenida de Diego to my house in Guaynabo. Instead, i ended up in Catano.
