Who are you? One of the hardest questions for anyone to answer. Some people may begin to brag about how good they are at whatever they do or start to describe their personality. However, on the grand level of things there is one simple answer for this question: You are a number. We are all numbers, I know it sounds unrealistic or disrespectful but when you really think about it, it may be true. At this age I find myself surrounded by numbers that represent me, whether it’s my GPA or SAT scores. Even as I look at others around me, they are all represented by numbers in a way. Adults don’t get left out of the question either. Nowadays it’s all about how much or how many. How much money do you earn? How many friends do you have? How much did those clothes cost? It is incredible how our society has evolved to represent everyone as a number. In this world there are 7 billion people and sometimes we forget how special each and every one of us can be. Our small attributes that make us special often get trampled over because there are so many of us. People have begun to notice that many of their traits get overshadowed by the rest of society and they don’t try to stand out. In life one must strive to be something more than a number, to be different. Standing out may not be for everyone and that is fine. However, do not let others define who you are because many suffer from that these days. Find something that makes you special and do not let it go because that is what will make you different from everyone else.
