Everyone has a place where they sometimes need to run off to in order to get away from everything. For some it may be in another country, others a vacation home or simply not going out. For me, it’s music. There is just something about music that makes me feel like nothing else matters. I love music because it is everywhere, especially in a festive island like the one I happen to live in. Everyone here seems to associate a part of their day with music. We, Puerto Ricans seem to always be singing, whether it is in the shower, around the house, or even when we’re shopping. I guess I love music because everyone around me does too. I can listen to anything as long as it has a nice beat. However, when it comes to my personal music I get a bit pickier. Sometimes I want to listen to something to get me through a workout so I have to get something energetic to listen to. For when I’m feeling down Drake or The Weeknd are a must. I know it’s not the music everyone listens to, but I feel that that is something special about music. No matter what you are feeling, you can always find something to connect to.
