The senior class is 60 students. Out of these 60 students, 36 of them are girls. According to statistics, 12 of these seniors will be victims of abuse at any given point in their lifetimes, be it physical or sexual. If one in three women are victims of abuse, that makes one billion women in the world. These assaulters can be random strangers, but they can also be relatives, a boyfriend, a boss, even someone we consider a friend.
Today, valentine's day, is also VDAY. VDAY commemorates women and calls for one billion women to take a stance to end the violence! So today, as you remember loved ones and the people you hold most dear to you, remember to acknowledge and honor VDAY!
