Cinderella - Poetry from a Sleep Deprived Girl

Posted by Laura Camila Rivera on January 30, 2014 at 11:40 AM

For all I know, my pillow could be Cinderella

Rushing back to bed at midnight

She could live a life of wonder and love

For she’s not always in my sight

I hope my pillow is Cinderella

I hope she has a life of her own

Because I’m always late to bed

And she always seems so alone

I hope she falls in love with a pillow

That belongs to someone from my school

Those pillows find comfort in others alike

Then I wouldn’t feel so cruel

Reunion at two and departure at six

A slow and painstaking goodbye

Four hours will never be enough

For a dalliance under the night sky

For all I know, my pillow could be cinderella

And I really hope she is

So that when I stay up studying

I won’t feel so bad about this
