Stupid.

Stupid, she says.

Can you really not tell what that does to her.

Do you really think she’s ok?

Don’t you know how hard she tries?

Tell me, how much more can she be?


Stupid.

How much higher do her grades have to rise?

How much smaller does her waist have to be?

How much smarter and polite should she be?

For you not to call her stupid again.


Stupid.

One month in and you’re already judging her.

Treating her like she’s nowhere near good.

How much longer does she have to fight through this.

Is all of her life not enough?


Stupid.

How can any affection make up for this?

Why do you think she’ll forget?

Get mad when she brings it back up again.

Just ignore how she runs away from you.


Stupid.

Stupid excuses. Stupid attempts at reconciliation. Stupid angsty writing. Stupid mistakes. Stupid reckless thoughts. Stupid, dangerous steps.

Stupid for giving up now.

Stupid for letting go.

But who could ever question her ways.

Stupid is all she knows.

Oh my god. This was great. It's honestly really hard for me to decide and think what exactly is my favorite line, but I think many authors want to make the last line the punch, so. My favorite line is "Stupid is all she knows." because it just impacts you so hard. The only line I have a problem with is 'Why do you think she'll forget?' but only because it's slightly confusing because I don't know what it is she'll forget. But that's it. That. is. literally. it.

Laura, this was so great. I feel like this sometimes, I don't know if you do, too. This poetry piece has really impacting sentences but my favorite is: Can you really not tell what that does to her. There's nothing that I feel like correcting, you make this your own and I love it.
