He leaves her dormitory and closes the door. She hears his footsteps grow fainter as he walks away from her room. Once at complete silences she walks to the balcony and looks out under the night sky. The stars are bright and luminous and the faint breeze moves the leaves of the trees. She looks around and notices that her room is in the tallest tower of the castle. A boulder on fir is flung towards the castle like a meteor from above.
“Squak!”
Ladden flies down and stands on the balcony rail. He calmly looks at her. She panics and points at the flying boulder. Ladden hops around and stares. He flies away towards the boulder within the invisibleshield to reassure everything is okay and watches the boulder break into small bits of rocks and slide down the shield. He flies back to the princess.
“Squak!”
Ladden then flies to her bed and begins to peck her pillows as if he was fluffing them up for her. She notices the signal and heads to the bathroom. She slowly undresses and puts on her gown. She hears several knocks outside.
“Comming!” she says, she quickly goes out and opens the door.
“Good evening, I hope I am not disturbing you.” Says the prince.
She smiles “Oh no, it’s okay. Your flying friend came in to check on me.”
“Ladden? I thought that silly fellow went hunting for rats!”
“Oh he was just here. I guess he flew away.”
“Ah yes, he and I, we share a bond. He knows where I am and when I call him. I wanted to let you know that no one will come and attack. This castle is equipped with the finest weapon and defense system away from societies hands. The flying boulder won’t do you any harm.”
“Thank you so much my lord.”
“You are welcome. I guess you should sleep. See you in the morning. Good night my princess”
“Good night”
She walks to her bed and snuggles in. The moonlight sheds its light on her glowing skin. She doses off into slumber and dreams.
