Nostalgia

Posted by Cata on March 31, 2016 at 9:40 PM

Senior year and to many of us this weekend it will be our last futsal tournament. When I think about the fact that there is less than 30 days left of class, of wearing those red shirts and walking the hallways of Saint John's School I am overcome with nostalgia. Less than 30 days to never eat ALIVE ever again, or to walk into your teacher's classroom with the people whom youve shared years of boring classtime with. Less than 30 days to experience the way that Ortiz calls you by your last name and you know you are in trouble. All these things you would think you will not miss have turned out to be the most valuable. The little things such as Alvaro falling asleep in Ms. Erickson's classroom, or how Luisa asks too many personal questions to Gutarra and class is delayed by at least five minutes every time. The way that Camacho used to scare the living crap out of us when we were in Eiffert's classroom by slaming on the door. How Cory gets upset when she finds drawn penises in her textbook, or how Del Toro says "Alooo" instead of hi. lt is all these simple things, that seem meaningless at first, but once the end is near, my eye appreciates them. We have taken them for granted all these years, but somehow they have become everything.
