Last Time I Sang to Someone

Posted by Cata on March 3, 2016 at 1:55 PM

Last time I san to someone else was last night to my mom. She was in the living room and i was in my bedroom. All of a sudden, I hear her mumbling a song. I pause my studying to listen to her, and for the first time ever, she reminded me of my grandmother. I momuntarily thought is was such nice moment that I noticed, because there is nothing nicer than catching someone at a moment of pure bliss. Instead of mumbling, she began to sing loud without the lyrics. I smiled when I realized I knew the lyrics to the song. it was Fly me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra. I joined her by singing the lyrics from my bedroom loud in a Sinatra/Adele voice so she'd hear me. I could almost hear her big smile. Then, she joined and we both sang in harmony. I adore this memory because it was a genuine moment of bliss. The whole time we never saw what the other person was physially doing, but it did not matter. All that mattered was that we both enjoyed doing a simple thing together such as singing, and for the first time in the day we emotionally connected. Music can do that for people, it can give you that daily emotional connection us humans look for every day. The magical thing was we did not need to acknoeledge the moment, because we both knew it was awesome. I fell silent when I did not know the rest of the lyric. She did too, and that was that.
