One of the activities I am most passionate about is the school play. I have been involved since the third grade and just finished performing my 10th play. I began as an actor but as I got more involved with the dynamics of the play, I transitioned towards backstage work, becoming props manager in 10th grade and continuing in this role today. Being props manager allows me to make the visual images of the writer and director come alive and I love the complexity and creativity involved. Also, I enjoy mentoring and working with the more junior backstage crew and helping them develop their skills. Overall, leading the backstage team to produce a complete vision is even more fulfilling for me than being the center of attention on stage.
