Tbt to thanksgiving week. I had left to go visit colleges Thursday night and I missed school friday. Long story short, Rochester Institute of Technology was my favorite school of the three that I visited. The point of this story is to tell you how I got sick and had to lay in bed for three days.
On the plane ride on the way back, I was shivering for half the plane ride. Those were the coldest two hours of my life. Right when I had gotten warm enough to stop shivering, it got really hot all of a sudden and I was sweating. I started taking layers off and rolling up my sleeves. I did not feel good at all. It was a horrible plane ride back home.
Once I got home, I was ready to knock out, but first my father made me take a cold shower to better the temperature of my body. I was burning. I clearly had a fever, but my father had suspicions that it was influenza. He thought it would be that because my brother had it a few days earlier. Soon after I got out, I changed into my PJ’s and knocked out.
The next morning I woke up and I could barely move, my back was hurting, my eyes were hurting, and so was my head. I could not walk or do anything. My dad’s suspicions were increasing. I was never hungry or anything so I would eat what I was forced to. My dad told me that Monday morning he and I would go and get some blood tests for me done so I could check to see if I had influenza or not. So the day passed and I watched Netflix all day in bed to pass the hours a bit faster.
Monday morning, I was woken up at around 6 o’clock to go get my blood tests done. I went in Christmas PJ’s because I was too lazy to put on anything else, oh and I was also wearing crocs that did not even match. When I sat down on the chair to take the blood out I was nervous. I hadn’t gotten any blood tests done or anything since I was small. As the needle was getting closer, I decided to look away but look again before it would go in. I felt a slight pinch when the needle went in to take out blood. The nurse also collected some on my sinus, to test it.
I tested positive for Influenza A...
