My sister Sariemma and I would say to each other, “It’s us against the world!” It was just the two of us for twelve years until my youngest sister and brother came along. We would spend every single moment together, Irish twins, there for each other no matter what. When I was a child, I was not into my appearance and my clothes never matched. My sister would drag me back into my room and pick out an appropriate outfit to wear. Whenever I cried she would know exactly what to do, making me feel better with her mere presence. Sariemma is also an amazing chef, and she would cook for both of us whenever we were hungry. She is my best friend too.

My sister is now in college and I am not used to her being so many miles away. I would like her to know that I truly miss and love her. It is really hard to have gone from living with her down the hall and seeing her daily to having to settle for phone calls every once in a while. Every moment is precious and I would make sure to spend a free day with her.
