SanSe '14 was the first time in this event where my parents allowed me to be with my friends and not have them follow me around. I was able to enjoy my time with just my friends and not have to worry about my parents. it was the time i walked for two hours from the Mariott to San Sebastian and 2 hours back to my house. SanSe'14 was the first time i felt freedom from my parents, i felt independent. I felt like they trusted me enough to be able to make the right decisions. I felt free, like a dog being released from his cage. It must not have been easy for my parents to let me loose in such a crowded place but they knew I would be responsible and careful. A parent's trust is the most important thing a kid needs if he wants to enjoy his high school years. That day, I remember walking down Calle Cristo with some friends and when we reach the bottom, one of the girls was missing her purse. She freaked out. We looked everywhere until a group of older people walked down holding the purse. She ran at them and quickly took the purse from her hands. In reality, the people were looking for her to hand it back but my friend did not see it that way. She took the purse and left. This part of the night showed me how not everyone is bad and not everyone wants what you have. There are many good people in our world trying to help others.
