I went to Michigan last weekend to visit a college, and it snowed like crazy... there was a freaking blizzard.

There is no way that I am ready for winter. Sure, I used to live in Ohio so I guess I have been able to live through a winter before, but when it hit zero degrees Fahrenheit this weekend I was about to freeze to death.

The thing about winter is that snow is so pretty… but only from a distance. Tugging around a huge coat and having to put on gloves and hats and boots just takes way too long for every time you have to go outside. Oh yeah, and if you don’t wear the right pair of shoes (like me), then you might almost fall down and crack your skull open several times each day.

I know I will have to adapt and get used to the cold, but the fact that I live in a place where it is summer all year just makes it harder to want to leave. I’m really just waiting for those Scandinavian genes of mine to kick in to make next year’s transition a lot easier.
