Blissful Quiet

Posted by Claudia Perez on March 28, 2014 at 1:25 PM

You tilt your head back

and decide

today

you will greet the stars.

Tonight there is nothing but a blissful quiet and a calm that sinks heavy into your bones. You welcome this reprieve; fill your lungs with it, let it leach the poison from your veins. Every exhale feels like an abandonment, a release of the days troubles.

You are losing sand and gaining disaster and you wonder if it was ever supposed to be different from this.

Inhale

Exhale

You tilt your head back

whisper goodbye

continue on your way.
