Anatomy stuff

It took me three years to forget what it was like to have your fingertips brush over my hips. I don’t think I’ve ever been held the same way your eyes held me that Friday night against the wooden floors. I haven’t played loud music in five years because there is a specific moment in the silence when I can hear your voice. The sound usually doesn't last very long but if I listen closely, I can hear you laughing, I can hear you looking at me. Sometimes I close my eyes and I can feel the warmth of our hugs, how our skin temperature always seemed to match. You always made me feel in all the right places.

If I get a paper cut it would take three days for the skin to be regenerated with connective tissue. If I bump against a kitchen counter, the bruise will last seven days. But when you left my side, my heart felt like it was being cut by paper and thrown against kitchen counters. Do you know how long it takes to heal a wounded heart? I’m not even so sure myself. It takes more than three days, that’s for sure because every connective tissue and regenerating cell seems to be composed of you.  How am I supposed to heal if you’re my cure?
