I'm telling you from experience

Posted by [email protected] on November 15, 2013 at 6:10 AM

You think you're that great mystery everyone wants to solve.

But let me tell you from experience that if you're too intricate, people will not continue their quest.

People get tired.

Eventually, they move on to greater, simpler things.

And it's a shame really because I have a feeling you're great.

But you find the fun in feeling superior.

Hide behind your arrogance like it's pretty.

Make a big deal out of simple things like a conversation.

Didn't they teach that not everything you have to say is important?

You're not enchanting enough to make me want to chase after you.

I'm sorry that you've been rejected so many times before.

I don't know if that's brave or sad.

And I'm sorry you've been trying so so hard to be someone's, whoever's, first choice.

But honey, you're not even on the option's list.

You see, I thought you wanted to be a mystery,

that you were courageous

because you took so many risks.

But now i realize that you just really lack self-respect and self-love.

Kid, love yourself.

Love yourself enough to walk away

from those who don't treat you

like the first goddamn first choice.

Then maybe you'll find the person who should want to get to know you

and discover all your little great things,

yourself.

I'm still trying to learn that too
