Little Girl

Posted by Claudia Perez on November 14, 2013 at 9:40 PM

Little girl, there is a defeat in your eyes older than your mother.

Little girl, your back is twisted.

Little girl, why are you trying to hide in your own skin.

Little girl fear is not your color; you do not wear it well.

Please.

Little girl, I have seen your clenched fists loosen in defeat.

Little girl, I have seen your eyes glow and flicker out.

Little girl, I have seen you bite your words in half.

Little girl, there is still something worth fighting for.

Little girl, there is a stifled fury about you

Little girl, your smile pricks at the skin.

Little girl, you pounce on the least suspecting.

Little girl, your eyes cut to the bone.

Little girl, I am so proud.
