Wrote It Post New Entry

Masks.

Wipe the smeared evidence from your face

What was supposed to mask is now gone,

There is no wall, no barrier

Feelings creep through the slightest crack in your disguise,

Revealing the contained truth,

What you try to hide with your various veils.

Someone approaches you in concern,

But help is not accepted, another guise is put in place

A slight curve in the mask, hides what you’ve been putting in the past.

The grin deflects questions and aids in avoiding the truth

Harder to keep, and easier to break

But effective in times of need.

Waiting for a moment alone

To release the emotions caged by the warped smile,

Allowing the truth to flood down, breaking the dam that confined it.

Let them out, until the moment comes to build yet another barrier

To then repeat the process.

Built, crack, repair, destroy then repeat.
