Yet they somehow laugh...

So there exists this group of really close friends in Condado, Puerto Rico, and they even have red matching shirts with a crown logo on them. They are all boys, and their shirts are different from those of everyone else who surrounds them. The group has a tradition that they perform twice a day, almost every single day of the week. They arrive to school one by one early in the morning, and take the first two classes of the day. After that, they sit together for the what appears to be some sor...

throwback

Throwback to when I went to a Giants game with Katia and we wore a onesie filled with the New York Giants logo. I felt like a rock star or the last coke in a desert, when we came inside the stadium everybody’s eyes gravitated towards us. They were in awe with the pajamas and someone will comment on them once every twenty seconds. The best was when this drunk dude came up to us and was like: “OH MO GOD! WHERE DID YOU GET THE PJS?! Can I buy them from you? (yes, he was screami...

Amor

Solo ...

Nilsa -- My MVP

Posted by RayRay on December 4, 2015 at 12:50 AM Comments comments (0)

This is the last stanza from Peter Pan's "Your mother and mine", and every bit of it is true when I think of my mother Nilsa - except maybe in the heated moments of familial fights. But, seriously, she is my hero, and has been my whole life. Of course, through wonder-filled, sparkly eyes of youth most children see at least one of their parents as their hero - probably even as a real life Superman or Wonder Woman - but even as my eyes have jaded to some tr...

London SOS

Yesterday, I received a notification from CNN that the UK decided to perform various aistrikes on ISIS locations in Syria. When I first read this I thought to myself "well that can't be good", "Does the UK have a plan of defense?". Then I forgot about it and went back to studying. Today, I received another notification, this time from a friend, that ISIS's next target is the UK. I was rather surprised they had gotten this information so quickly so I decided to investigate. Its true, they have...

#TBTThanksgiving

Posted by Sariana Mendez on December 3, 2015 at 9:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Tbt to thanksgiving week. I had left to go visit colleges Thursday night and I missed school friday. Long story short, Rochester Institute of Technology was my favorite school of the three that I visited. The point of this story is to tell you how I got sick and had to lay in bed for three days.

On the plane ride on the way back, I was shivering for half the plane ride. Those were the coldest two hours of my li...

12 Days

Posted by Nick Y on December 3, 2015 at 9:05 PM Comments comments (0)

Day 1: Time is going by way too slow yet way too fast. In the long term, I am expecting something that is a huge factor in my life. On the other hand, short term, I have a long PR history essay to finish.

Day 2-5: Is a friday. Time to submit the PR history essay. A week from now, classes are over. But wait... there's more. We have a mid-term project to do. Ah there's also the Newscast on Monday and on Wednesday the PR history project is due. I got this weekend to work....

I woke up this morning thinking “oh my god why cant i be horribly sick so I have a good excuse to not go to school for a while”. Day 2 and im already tired. Being ripped away from the comfort of being no where near school is always the most painful thing. I was filled with such bitterness yesterday that I could feel the bugs and worms creeping, crawling, inching through my mushy mushy brain. No surprise that a bunch of teachers decided to drop a ton of work on us for these last tw...

The Ghost Pepper of Death

Posted by Nacho on December 3, 2015 at 7:05 PM Comments comments (0)

A post that isn't about Spiders? Finally. Today I want to tell you all about one of the craziest things I have done in my life: eating the Ghost Pepper. The Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) is one of the hottest peppers in the planet. The pepper has received a huge amount of internet success due to the amount of people that have eaten the pepper and uploaded their reactions on social media. So my friends and I decided to have a try and tackle this monster known as the Ghost Pepper. Going in to a d...

Throwback Thursday

Posted by Bald Lightning on December 3, 2015 at 6:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Throwback to being on top of a four story tower last week with my friends. The tower isn’t exactly a “stable” edifice, but it hasn’t fallen over yet. From the top, I stood and admired the view. It’s a calming sight to see. To my left I saw broken down fire trucks, standing proud on the dirt and grass, circled by old cars and old car parts. To my right: big, perfect cement cylinders lie in the shade of a low-hanging tree. Straight ahead is the ocean canal, small b...
