The Rotisiv with their revopeels

Posted by Cata on December 11, 2015 at 11:50 PM Comments comments (0)

I have discovered an old tradition from the rotisiv that has been enscribed in an old piece of stone buried in the highlands of the Everest. The tradition was called revopeels, which is one of the strangest traditions I have ever heard before in my life. The rotisiv was a trive who enjoyed going into other tribes and intruding. Whenever someone heard a knock on the door, they knew it was the rotisiv who were ready to destroy their homes. It was used as a sort of announcement be...

Get Out of My Way

As the people of America enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner with their families, many cannot stop thinking of the next day. Of the day of chaos and disorder. During Thanksgiving, millions of people give thanks for everything they have and realize how it is enough. They enjoy their time with the closest people in their lives and stuff their stomachs until they can't breathe. Many people dont sleep the whole Thanksgiving day, others sleep the whole day. Many people are looking forward to this day ...

Getting Her Hair Done

Posted by Sariana Mendez on December 10, 2015 at 8:25 PM Comments comments (0)

We had an event that night that celebrated going to a higher grade. I don’t know why they did it in this grade if they did not do it in the others. So my friend said that she had to get her hair fixed, I had no clue what she meant by that.

So we went to the mall and we entered a store. It was a weird kind of store, you would pay them to either lose hair, fry your hair, or make it look nothing like it did ...

The Tooth Fairy

Anthropologist now know that people believe in aspects of life that make them happy and give them hope. As humans, we have evolved into mostly rational creatures with the few exceptions in matters of the heart. So, when it comes to fairy tales we save those in the recesses of our adult minds only to be drawn out and repeated to younger generations. It's our human tradition; it's how we impart lessons and we hope they're absorbed properly.

University

Every time one of my classmates gets accepted in to a university a little bit more anxiety is added to my plate. CU Boulder has a pretty late notification date compared to other early action colleges: February 1st. I want to know already if I can go to the best college in the world, and knowing I have to wait another 51 days to find out if I can is fucking brain-destroying. That being said, I am very happy for my friends who already know what colleges they are going to.

Living among Metal Beasts

Posted by Nick Y on December 10, 2015 at 7:55 AM Comments comments (0)

After centuries of roaming the land, the Nacirema people discovered an animal with various breeds whose evolution never ends. These beasts come in all shape and sizes and seems to be born with a shiny exoskeleton. They have four legs which allows them to move with great speeds, faster than galloping horses. They stand firm and roar loud. In Nacirema culture, people prize these beasts and many call them “Otua”. Indi...

The Youth

In the modern world, a particular trend that has been around for a while seems to be particularly popular with the youth. The youth are enthralled by groups of people that make noises with certain contraptions. The youth of today buys various items with the noise makers’ faces or names on them and in some cases, seem like they would do just about anything for them. The youth take part in some sort of ceremony every now and then (there is no evidence as to a particular pattern yet). They...

It was the day before lent started, they call it Fat Tuesday and a festival started. Not a single soul could be added to the streets of New Orleans of how packed it was; people were shoving each other to pass through from place to place. Then all of a sudden music starts playing, and in the distance machines start to appear. People disperse; half to one sidewalk and the other half to the sidewalk parallel to it. These machines started going through the streets. The machines were filled with d...
