Till first we were graded with C and U

From fifth grade down grades were just E’s and G’s

My country’s flag was red, yellow, and blue

Columbia was my group’s country you see

Porrata as middle school principal

We were told that we were “In the middle”

Seventh was as awkward as a pimple

We thought we were grownups, big not little

Our grades now are: F, D, C, B and A

From eighth grade to freshman is a big s...

Sonnet 1

As I entered the room, I felt the hate

not one pleasant word came out of their mouths

for they, I was simply a piece of bait.

‘til one unlucky day, it all went south

I spit verses like Drake after break ups

yet dissed them all like Eminem on dope

once I finished they all called for backups

I left them helpless, with no sign of hope

They learned the hard way to not mess with me

Leave your comfort zone

I have fed the homeless, organized a bookstore to raise money for a homeless shelter, and volunteered at a home for children who are government wards. I had been exposed to the lives of people who faced terrible adversity, and worked to help them. However, I aspired to move further out of my comfort zone, in order to fully realize my fortune in both blessings and ability to help those less fortunate.

Last summer, I went on a 4-day trip to Haiti with a group of orthopedic surgeons who v...

Good Hair

In Spanish class we watchted the trailer of Chris Rock's Good Hair documentary. He basically goes around and documents the procedures Afro-American women go through to get the hair society deems "beautiful." This cosmetic surgeries seem so painful and it sickens me because I love volumoius, curly hair. I should not be talking because I always do laser treatments, and that hurts a lot. But I don't know this is hair on your head, not on your body; it's different. The hair you rock should not ti...

The earth was a neverending zebra pattern. The earth looked like scattered pieces of a puzzle of a big tree The earth was fragments of a brain amongst patches of gray matter The earth looked like layed  out walnuts The earth was left over leaves of autumn The  earth shone like glitter patches of aluminum The earth was a connection of neurons We view our world based on what we know

Amazon, the online store is a majestic entity we all know and love. It gives us wonderful deals and free shipping if you decide to join its Prime Membership program. It's quite worth it, actually, REALLY worth it. Unfortunately, we in Puerto Rico, do not get its fantastic 2 day delivery we desire but atleast get the free shipping. That's something right? JSA

JSA is an amazing experience. Going to Washington with a bunch of your friends (22 seniors total this year) and staying in a hotel? Sign me right up! Is what I didn't say. Many people say the workload being a part of JSA entails is more of a "workload", but I stay away anyway. It's never really enticed me. Fortunately, JSA is also amazing for the people who dont go away. I arrived to school at eight in the morning and walked into the lounge. Quiet. Quiet.

College Sweatshirts

I find it very strange that we wear the sweatshirts, sweaters, or jackets of the universities we get into during our senior year. I find it weird that we wear jackets representing universities or colleges that we do not yet have a sense of pride for inside our home school, which we do have pride for. What increases the strangeness is this behavior happens during senior year, our last chance to participate as students in anything of this school we have loved and been loved by for so many years...

I've been really weak on my writing for the past week. Loocking back at my prompts, I've written about 10 lines in total . But last week I wrote an amazing story for Perceptions  that began in a dark room. I realized I enjoy been given a setting and creating a plot because the stories I write reveal so much about myself, my thoughts, my current or past emotions, and my subconcious.

Why am I so obsessed with the subconcious? Its like I am looking for something in people but ne...

Soooooo tired. I need to sleep. I need to eat. I need to rest. I need to nest. I need to fall. I need to crawl. I need to bawl. I need to stall. I need to get. I need to get set. I need to figure out. I need to know what now. I need to buy. I need to buy time. I need to stop laughing. I need to not look at Vero or Sophie. I need to stop. I need to haul a stall. I need to learn to rhyme. I need to have the time. I need to concentrate. If not I won't apprec... Read Full Post »
