You'll have plenty boy friends before I get my first.
I just don't want you to get hurt.
Tell me if you have one like me.
So I can finally let you be
You'll move on soon and will forget.
I'll be happy for you forever yet

I look to the side towards my husband and just stare back at his eyes. All I can do is stare. Many emotions rush through me at the same time: fear, confusion, tiredness. I’m not even half awake and this is happening to me. The voice sounded like it was from a female but it was distorted so I couldn’t hear it clearly. Who is this person? Why do they want me and what for? My throat constricts. When I finally find my voice, the only words that escape me are “I’ll be right...

Spiders live a great life. They have the amount of arms that every human being could wish for. No one messes with a spider, even when they are not poisonous. If someone sees a spider a couple of feet away, they will change their direction and walk away from them. Sometimes I wish I had this "force field," sometimes people don't understand that there are moments when I need to be alone. Spiders also live a free life; they make a home wherever they want. They just pick a spot and build their ho...

One day, I want to change the world. If fame comes as a side effect, then so be it. However, fame is not hte reason why I would like to be innovative and improve anything that improves the lives of thousands of people. These acts should not be done for recognition, but as a part of the search and process of progressing as a race living in this world that has so much to fix and improve. In all honesty, I would possibly be happier if fame was not the result of my acts. Fame affects a person's v...

I love spiders. Onne time there was a spider in my bathtub. The spider was on the bottom of the tub, naked and afraid. Instead of obliterating it with my foot or any object within reach, I decided to pick up the spider and put it near the bathroom window. I saved its life. From that moment on, the Spider (yes capital s) and I have basically become best friends. Thanks to that decision to save the spider, I have given her the possibility to reproduce as she is now currently going through pregn...

Yesterday I finished reading "Sea of Tranquility." It was such a good book.
You know that feeling you get the day after you finish a book you loved?
You begin to relate absolutely everything you hear that day to the storyline. You go about your day making connections from your life to the book, because you just don't want to believe it is over.

We all take what we have here in Puerto Rico for granted. Like, insanely. None of us go to the beach as much as we should, and none of take time to appreciate the climate and vibes of the island. At the beginning of this year I thought of how I might be leaving this island soon, possibly for a very long time. So I decided to appreciate it more, I go to the beach more often than I used to and I generally appreciate having the ocean so close to me. I breathe in the salty air and feel the sun's ...

This is it. The moment each and every one of us has been training for. The Finals in Senior year. Not a single one of us ever stuttered when we got asked the question " are the varsity boys going to make it to the finals?". This team of individuals has played hard from the beginning of 9th grade until now. We have created a bond and chemistry no other team in our league will ever have. Our team has fallen many times but we quickly got back on our feet and kept fighting for this single game. E...

There were ten seconds left on the clock, it was a tied game and FSU had the ball. They were going to make a field goal to win. This was the last play, and GT’s last chance. The Jackets could block or pull something out of a hat to win. Standing in the Students’ Section, 4 rows from the field, we wait nervously for the end, the feeling of loss already creeping at our nerves. Then, out of nowhere everything changes. GT blocks FSU’s field goal and the ball...

TBT to the first weekend of September when I went to the US Open in New York. My whole family went to celebrate my dad’s birthday; we were 18 in total. We even had matching hats that said “Charlie’s 50th birthday.” I lost track of the amount of people that came up to me and asked whom Charlie was because they saw the hats everywhere and wanted to wish him a happy birthday. It was a really hot day, but we sat and watched about five games. During every game, guys in blue...
